There is No Threat is a response to the false ballistic missile launch in Hawaii in January 2018. It brings together two languages of anxiety: emergency alerts (that appeared on personal cellphone screens) and medical apparatuses (cotton-tipped applicators, etc. used in my own doctor’s visits). In so doing, these images also assemble multiple forms of vulnerability.
